18 Ram 3500 Factory 20 wheels, What would be an adequate drop on an adjustable ball mount ?

For your 2018 Ram 3500 with a 2-1/2 inch hitch the B and W adjustable ball mount that would be the best option would be the part # BWTS20040B which fits the 2-1/2 inch hitch size and can do a drop of up to 7-1/2 inches. It also comes with both popular hitch ball sizes as well of 2 inch and 2-5/16 inch.

I have a 2019 F350 would it be 3 in or 2.5 in shaft do you measure inside or outside of receiver

For the ball mount size you will measure the inside width of the hitch receiver. I believe the 2019 F-350 came equipped with a factory 2-1/2" receiver but it doesn't hurt to check to be certain.
