Question:
Hi, I am looking to replace my Dometic AC on a fiberglass escape trailer because it unbearable noisy. I am not sure the name, but the model number is 640135.751CO. It is a 13.500 BTU ductless system with a heating coil. Do you have any plug and playoptions where I can replace the whole system without having to re-do any wiring or cut any new holes? Thank you in advance.

Hey Tim, thanks for reaching out. Yes, we do have option for replacing your old Dometic AC. It's pretty common for those old Dometic units to be pretty noisy, and a new system will be much quieter and more efficient. That said, doing away with that old unit will mean replacing your entire AC system. The rooftop unit, distribution box and thermostat/controller. You won't have to cut any new holes or run any new wires through the walls or anything though.
All that said, here is what I recommend for replacing it:
- Furrion Variable Speed Chill Cube RV AC w/ Heat Pump & Ceiling Assembly - 18K Btu - Non-Ducted - R32 # FR87TQ
These Chill Cube units are great. It has an 18,000 BTU rating, so you get way more cooling capacity, all with less amp draw than most standard 13,500 BTU units. Plus, they are whisper quiet, so no more unbearable noise. It will fit the same 14" x 14" roof opening as your current unit. It uses a wireless remote for controls, so you won't have to deal with any thermostat wiring or anything like that. Plus, you get a heat pump, which will be much more effective than the current heat coil setup. Overall, it's a very solid, functional unit and I think you'll be very happy with it.
Do you usually camp during the colder or warmer months?
