Hi Paul,
Due to a law that was passed in 2024 requiring a refrigerant change, all models of air conditioners after 2024 require a complete new set up when replacing AC units that were manufactured prior to 2024. This is due to the fact that the control boxes had to be rewired in order to meet safety standards that changed due to the new refrigerant. The AC unit and control box won't plug into the older set up, and even if the plugs do match the wiring is in a different configuration which would cause the unit to not work or short out and damaged the motor.
That being said, if you have a ducted system, I recommend going with the GE Deluxe Plus RV AC System w/Heat Pump part # GE75ZR that has the thermostat, control box, and celling assembly needed to work with the AC unit. If you have a non-ducted set up, I recommend going with the GE Deluxe Plus RV AC System w/Heat pump part # GE34RR. Both systems are rated for 15K Btu cooling, and the heat pump will keep functioning all the way to 25 degrees which is significantly better function than other units that can't function below 40 degrees. The units do require the roof to be 2" to 6" thick with a cutout of 14 3/8" x 14 3/8" wide so you'll want to verify your roof meets those dimensions.
Do you use the heat pump a lot when you camp?
