Question:
Hi etrailer, I have a 2026 Ford F-350 that we use to pull a large fifth wheel. We have a couple trips out west planned and I'm looking to upgrade the truck's brakes before we start doing more mountain towing. I saw the Timbren brake upgrades but there are quite a few listed for the F-350. What would you recommend for the front and rear?

Hey Mike! The Timbren BES brakes are a great upgrade for your F-350 if you're regularly towing a heavy fifth wheel. You can either upgrade the brake pads while keeping your factory rotors, or replace the pads and rotors together with the complete BES Brake Upgrade Kits.
If you want to keep your factory rotors, the Timbren BES Severe-Duty Brake Pads # T52UV (Front) and # T66HV (Rear) will give you a complete set. If you want to upgrade the pads and rotors together, you can choose from the following based on whether your F-350 is 2WD or 4WD, and if you have a dually model:
2WD:
-Timbren BES Disc Brake Upgrade Kit - Front Wheels # T23HV
-Timbren BES Disc Brake Upgrade Kit - Front Wheels - Dually # T95HV
4WD:
-Timbren BES Disc Brake Upgrade Kit - Front Wheels # T83HV
2WD and 4WD:
-Timbren BES Disc Brake Upgrade Kit - Rear Wheels # T62HV
These use Timbren's severe-duty low-metallic brake pads along with matched rotors designed for demanding applications like heavy towing. They'll give you a strong initial bite and resistance to brake fade as heat builds up during repeated stops. With the mountain towing you have planned, I'd go with the complete pad and rotor upgrade if you want to get the most out of the BES setup.
What kind of 5th wheel are you towing and where are you headed out West?
