Since you’re looking to replace the entire A/C system on your 2001 TrailManor 2032, I’d go with the Furrion Chill Cube. It’s a really nice upgrade from an older RV A/C, especially if you’re looking for something quieter and more energy efficient with modern controls.
If your TrailManor has a ducted ceiling system, you need the Furrion Variable Speed Chill Cube 18K system with the ducted air distribution box, part # FR97TQ. If your current A/C blows directly into the camper from the ceiling assembly underneath the unit, you’ll want the non ducted version, part # FR87TQ. Both are complete systems, so you’ll get the rooftop A/C, interior ceiling components, controls, and remote that are designed to work together.
The Chill Cube also has a built in heat pump, which is great for taking the chill off on cooler mornings without firing up the furnace. I really like the variable speed compressor because it adjusts to how much cooling you actually need instead of constantly kicking on and off at full power. That means lower starting wattage, better energy efficiency, and quieter operation. At its quieter levels, it’s comparable to a normal conversation, which is pretty nice when you’re sleeping or enjoying that first cup of coffee.
One thing I’m curious about with your 2001 TrailManor is whether you’re replacing the original lower output A/C. Some of those older TrailManors were equipped with relatively small units, and a lot of owners eventually wanted more cooling in hot weather. Hi Norma. I see that Heather recommended the Furrion Chill Cube 18k btu air conditioner/heat pump. I installed a non-ducted one in my Class C and couldn't be happier. It is so much more quiet than our factory Dometic. If your present air conditioner is installed in a standard 14 inch square opening, this unit will be a simple remove and replace job, whether ducted or non-ducted. I plan to replace my main Dometic heat pump with a ducted Chill Cube next.
