Replacement End Caps For A Rhino Rack Roof Rack With Vortex Aero Bars

Updated 08/05/2026 | Published 07/29/2026

Question:

Purchased 2 crossmembers I believe the Vortex racks for tracks. Part RR62XE. Each end has a plastic cap in a narrow oval shape. Was driving in the hills and lost 3 caps. Anyway to purchase a replacement set?

Hi Henry!

I see you placed an order already, but I still wanted to get you an answer to your question.

As you found, the end caps for your Rhino Rack roof rack are definitely replaceable. That said, there are currently two aero bars out there from Rhino Rack and you will want to make sure you get the cap that matches your bars. I included an image that shows what both bars look like, but basically the Vortex bar has a single rubber strip running down the middle and the Sportz has two rubber strips with the middle being open. The picture does a better job of explaining that. I have the part numbers for both end caps below:

Rhino-Rack Secure Core Endcaps for Vortex Aero Crossbars - Plastic Cores - Qty 4 # RRVA-SEC4
Replacement End Caps for Rhino-Rack Sportz Bar Roof Rack - Qty 4 # RR34FR94MR

Since you mentioned the Rhino-Rack # RR62XE though, you will have the Vortex caps and what you ordered will fit perfectly. Just make sure they are in the locked position after you put them in. ^___^

What are you typically carrying on your roof?

I've found that not all of the end caps lock on the same to the crossbars. After you've installed the caps and turned the key 90° to lock them in, give them a little bit of a tug to make sure they are securely locked into place.

@Michael That's definitely good advice. I don't know why they don't lock all the time when they are supposed to be, but giving them a tug will definitely confirm it or not.
