Hi Alvin!
The Curt Powered Tail Light Converter with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C59236 will work on your 2008 Land Rover Range Rover HSE. This is a universal kit, so it won't be a plug-and-play installation, but you'll just splice into the OEM taillight wiring for this to work for you. The converter in this harness will protect the electronics from an electrical overload and prevent dash errors.
I've linked the instructions below for you so that you can gauge whether you think this is something you'll be able to install yourself. The wiring kit includes quick connect wiring connectors but for a more secure connection, you should use Deka Heat Shrink Butt Connector # DW05744-10. From there, you'll have a 4-way wiring harness to sync the lights from your vehicle to a trailer or lighting accessory. I do see that some 2008 Range Rovers had a factory tow package so you'll want to confirm that you don't have wiring already if you haven't checked. If you do find you have a factory plug, then you won't need this kit at all.
To give this wiring kit more of a factory look, I recommend you add a Curt Mounting Bracket # C42CR and if you don't want to drill into the bumper to install it, a Curt No-Drill Bracket # C57202.
What do you tow with your Range Rover—boat, small camper, or utility trailer?

Hi Jerry I appreciated you getting back to me with the answer to my question on the trailer wiring its much appreciated I understand that the vehicle has the factory wiring harness but believe it ends inside the vehicle with a plug end on it to install the trailer wiring for it. I have checked with a European distributor in England UK and they informed me they can no longer get the wiring harness kit thats plug and play for this vehicle so I will have to go with your suggestion on getting it wired. I have one question you say its a 4 pole plug connector my RV has electric brakes that I use a brake controller with to activate them when needed. I have a 7 way plug adapter and at the end you plug in a 4 way plug will this cause me an issue when Im using my brake controller hooked up to my RV the unit weight is 7000lbs. I will look forward hearing back from you regarding this question before I place an order for the wiring harness and accessories I will require for this job. Thank you
