Clarify your gear ratio definition...is 18.75 nearly 19 complete revolutions to turn the take up hub only 3 1/8 inches? Or , do you mean one complete handle revolution to turn the take up hub one revolution?...I am trying to determine approx number of handle turns to move a cantilever boat lift carriage forward and up to lift boat out of the water...estimate 4 feet of total carriage movement required..how many handle turns would you predict? Also, if I remove the 13inch handle, is there a protruding bolt to mount my old take up wheel? Since the old wheel is about 5ft around, wouldnt that require less revolutions and a much easier turn? The electric model you suggested earlier, I agree is a better choice, but much more costly, and would need to run electricity a long ways to the lift. Lastly, if I try the manual one and not pleased, what is your return policy in order to upgrade to an electric? Thank you again

The gear ratio of winch # DL24844 would be 18.75 turns of the handle for one complete revolution of the drum. You could say that one revolution of the drum is 3-1/8 inches and that would be 288 turns of the handle for 4 feet.
You might be able to adapt the wheel to the winch but it hasn't been tested with that type of apparatus so I cannot guarantee that it will work. And you are correct it would be less revolutions and easier to turn.
There are other electric winches you could use and you would just need a 12 volt battery to power the winch. Winch # DL25200 would be a good choice if you changed your mind and wanted to go that route.
