Solution for 12 Volt Accessory Circuit of 2019 Entegra Esteem 29V Not Working
Updated 07/21/2026 | Published 07/19/2026 >
Question:
The 12V charge line from my Class C RV 2019 Entegra Esteem 29V is not working. When I check the charge line pin at the 7 pin receptacle on the back of the RV there is no power to the 12V charge pin. I have checked all fuses under the RV hood and under the dash to no avail. I have had two RV Techs check the system too and no one could find the answer. I contacted Jayco and they believe there is a loose or broken wire somewhere between the RV battery and the 7 pin plug. That would require a thin person to crawl under the rig to try to trace the wire. I tried to see if a Ford dealer had a lift for a class C RV and only one did and they couldnt get me in for 3 weeks. I am traveling cross country and am currently in Indianapolis. I am leaving her on August 1st to head to West Virginia. Every time we stop for the night the battery is dead on my 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee L. I bought a Curt Towed Battery Charger Plus system. The install videos say to hook one of the wires to the 7 pin plug on my Jeep. That wont change anything if there is no 12V power coming from the RV. Please help.

Hey Carl, thats a frustrating situation to be in. That's a really large vehicle to try and track down a difficult to see wiring issue but we can help. You can bypass all of the factory wiring if you want and run a wire from the vehicle's positive battery post all the way back to the 12 volt accy circuit of the 7-way and you will have that circuit active again. It's not a super simple solution but it's a sure thing and once connected will for sure work. We recommend 10 gauge wire like part # 10-1-1 which we sell by the foot for this circuit. You wouldn't have to wait weeks to get the work done either if you don't mind doing it yourself.

I would agree with the 1st answer, run a new wire to bypass and call it good until your trip is over then you can play with the wiring. It may just be the terminal on the 7pin, I've had to replace the 7pin recepticles on our trucks because the terminals fail. You'll have to test continuity(ohms) for a broken wire...which can take some time and you may be disassembling a lot of parts to access the wiring depending on the location. I will say most of the time it's not the wire itself that breaks...it's usually a splice that comes loose or the actual plug/receptacle that is the problem. I'm assuming all fuses are good...and Ohms are your best friend...
