Question:
I need to replace propane alarm unit in my 2006 Southwind motorhome model safe-t-alert 30-442-p 12 vDC 100ma. I have looked on the web site but not sure what the correct unit should be. thanks for any help you can give me.

Hey John! The RV Propane Gas Detector # RS44FR is the correct replacement for your Safe-T-Alert 30-442-P. Both are 12-volt hardwired propane detectors, and the RV Safe unit is designed as a replacement for older OEM propane alarms like yours.
It includes both a small bracket (5-3/8" long x 2-1/2" tall) and a large bracket (7-1/4" long x 3-3/8" tall) to cover most existing propane detector cutouts. We also have the # RS54FR which has the added functionality of carbon monoxide detection as well.
Where are you headed next with the Southwind?

This is an exact replacement for the original propane gas detector in our 2022 Tiffin Breeze 33BR. The original failed 5 months prior to the date printed on the front of it. If yours is alarming and you can’t figure out why, check the expiration date.

Easy install on our 2019 ‘27 Tommy Bahama Airstream. Probably best to take a photo of the simple wiring before disconnecting old unit so you don’t get confused. Ours was an exact replacement and worked immediately and as advertised. Good travels!

I replaced my 12 year old memory LP detector with one of these. Easy to wire on and the two surrounds they give you make it easy to cover the old hole It looks nice once installed.
