looking to replace my Thetford 31653 AM5 foot with a lightweight comfort height, preferable 20, white, soft close. Can you send me a couple options/recommendations

Hi Wayne, based on what you're looking for, you need the Thetford Aqua Magic VI, part # TH37SE. It has the taller comfort height you're after at just over 20 inches overall with the lid closed, a soft close seat, a lightweight polypropylene construction, and it installs using the same 2 bolt mounting style with the included gasket and hardware. It also has a minimum rough in requirement of 7-5/8 inches, which matches what your current Thetford setup uses.
Since you're already replacing a Thetford 31653 Aqua Magic V, I'd recommend staying with Thetford. The rough in dimensions and mounting are designed to be compatible, which helps make the installation much more straightforward and reduces the chance of running into fitment issues or needing to modify your RV's plumbing.
If you're open to making a few modifications during the installation, another option to consider is the Seaflo RV Toilet, part # SE85MR. It has an elongated bowl, a slow close lid, and a sturdy polypropylene construction while still being lightweight. The seat height is 17-5/8 inches, and the overall height is 18-1/2 inches with the lid closed. It does require an estimated minimum rough in of 9-1/2 inches, so you'll want to make sure you have the space available before choosing this one.

The old and new Thetford toilets differ on the water supply hookup. One is oriented vertically and the other is horizontal at a different height This means you’ll need to craft a new pex connection behind the toilet. Do you have pex tubing on hand with the proper crimp tools? These connections are no picnic and they need to be aligned straight before the threads will go together

Wayne, I purchased this Thetford Aqua-Magic VI RV Toilet last year and installed it myself with ease I replaced a toilet that had a side lever for flushing, so my wife loves this toilet for the fact that it is super high with a soft close lid and even though it is round it is an amazing size bowl with a circular or Vortex swirl flush which keeps the bowl super clean with each flush she loves the fact that the foot pedal is in the middle also. I would highly recommend this toilet specially if you have a tight space to deal with. Regards.
