Question:

I have a 2010 jeep JKU Rubicon. Will a 3 gallon rotopax fuel container work with this mount? Will door still open, etc ?

Hi Brian,

The MORryde RotopaX Mount for Jeep Wrangler JK and JKU part # MR46MR is built to accommodate all sizes of the Rotopax fuel tanks. The MORryde Installation Manual, shows that position "B" shifts the mount 1.25 inches higher and 1.25 inches further forward to accommodate the taller 3-gallon shape. Since the 3-gallon tank is larger it takes up more space and will be closer to the door when it's opened. When the passenger door is flung completely open, the factory door limiter strap allows the door mirror to swing very close to the fender. A 3-gallon container is thick enough that the door mirror may contact the fuel pack if opened forcefully so you'll want to be aware of that when opening the door.

What's the next trip you're planning on taking with your Jeep?

Thanks for the info. We pull it behind our motorhome and do a lot of off roading in remote areas. The extra fuel should prove very useful. I think we can work with it.

@BrianW Glad I could help! Just be careful opening those doors on windy days so it doesn't hit the tank!
