Question:
Hello: Looking to replace tires and wheels from a 1980-ish trailex car trailer. Kenda Loadstar load range E is the desired tire. However, not sure about rims. Bolt pattern is 4 lug, 1/2-20 x 1-5/8inch cone shaped bolts. Looking for help determining if these are the rims I should be using??? Picture provided I am not with the trailer right now so I cannot measure the bolt pattern.

Hey John,
The tire in your photo is a 20.5x8.0-10, which is the same size as 205/65-10. With that, you can use Kenda 205/65-10 Bias Trailer Tire with 10" White Wheel - 4 on 4 - Load Range E # AM3H460 as a replacement wheel and tire. This has the 4-on-4 bolt pattern, which isn't the only 4-bolt pattern but is by and large the more common pattern over the 4-on-9.44, which I can visibly see that your tire isn't. The # AM3H460 uses a load range E tire and its maximum load is 1,650 lbs per tire at 90 psi. Your 1/2-20x1-5/8" lug size will work for this setup, and you can use Americana Trailer Wheel Lug Nut - Chrome Plated - 1/2"-20 # AM90049 for replacement lug nuts. If you need a center cap, you can use any cap with a 2.8" diameter like Americana Trailer Wheel Center Cap - Chrome Plated - 2.80" to 2.84" Pilot # AM90113. How old are the wheels in the photo? Have you checked your spindle and axle to see if they need any servicing?
