Can U-Bolt on MR39ZV Fit in Front Bolt Slot?

Question:

Regarding the lock for the MOS Uplift. My crossbar tower partially blocks the slot the lock goes through. Will the U-shaped fit in the front bolt slot? I recently purchased the MOS Uplift from etrailer. Fits my needs perfectly!

Hi Ralph!

Unfortunately, no, the U-lock can't go in the front bolt slot on the MOS UpLift Roof Rack Lift Assist - Clamp On # MR39ZV. Those slots are a different width than the dedicated lock slots, and more importantly, the locking cam block passes through that exact area as the UpLift deploys and retracts — a U-bracket there would obstruct the mechanism.
