Can The etrailer Bike Rack for 4 Bikes e98913 Hold E-Bikes?

Question:

On 10/11/2022 I purchased Order 113919112 the following bike rack - e98913 etrailer Bike Rack for 4 Bikes - 2 Hitches - Tilting. It has been a great rack for transporting our 2 beach cruiser type bikes. Were now considering the switch to e bikes. Before making the change, I wanted to know the weight limit for my rack. I checked the rack itself and your website but I cant find that information. Would you know what the weight limit is? Thanks in advance for your help.

Hey Frederick, thanks for reaching out. The etrailer Bike Rack for 4 Bikes # e98913 can hole bikes weighing up to 30 lbs apiece. So, 120 lbs total for 4 bikes. Because of the 30 lb weight limit, that would not be a good rack for carrying e-bikes. You'll need to get a rack that is purpose-built for e-bikes.

Something like the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE Bike Rack # HLY84FR would work great for that. It can hold two bikes weighing up to 80 lbs apiece which covers most standard e-bikes. It can hold tires up to 5" wide, and wheelbases up to 60". Definitely a solid option for hauling a couple heavier bikes.

What kind of e-bikes were you thinking about getting?
