Question:

Question on which equalizer would work from my tandem axel 5th wheel whic is 44 feet long springs measure 251/4 eyebolt to eyebolt overall spring measurement is 58 and5/8 front to back center hanger to center hanger current equalizer measures 5and5/8 across the bottom center to center.From top bolt straight down to bottom bolts is 1and3.4 C to C and it is 3and3/8 up the angle from bottom to top bolt C to C. Looking at the cre3000 or something similar. Thanks on advance

Hey Don!

Based on this information, your fifth wheel likely uses a standard 5-5/8" curved equalizer but before recommending an exact replacement, I'd want to verify the height of your current equalizer. Can you confirm the distance from the center of the top bolt hole straight down to an imaginary line through the centers of the two bottom holes? There's a the photo below with an example of the Curved Equalizer for 1-3/4" Wide Double-Eye Springs # TREQ104.

To upgrade to the MorRyde suspension system, you'll need to do another measurement. The measurement between the center holes on your frame hangers will determine your wheelbase. I've linked the measurement instructions below. Based on the chart in the instructions, if you have a 33" wheelbase, you will need MORryde Rubber Equalizers for Tandem Axle Trailers # MR87ZR and if you have a 35" wheelbase, you'll need MORryde Shock Absorbing Suspension Equalizers for Tandem Axle Trailers # MR27ZR.

I just measured my existing equalizer, and replicated those measurements for my replacement units. Remember: carry spare hardware and equalizer with you for the next 200 miles or so, just in case it's needed. Also, re-tighten ALL hardware a couple of times in your next travels. Finally, I also upgraded to the wet bolts - something you should consider. You've got this!

@Bob I think upgrading to the wet bolts is always a great option! It makes a step that's so commonly forgotten or disregarded that much easier to maintain. I also agree that it's great to carry the spare hardware, partially to ensure that you're protected from the worst case scenario, but also to ensure everything is in good condition at all times.
