Question:

Can I buy some extra retaining clips for a Hayes oval ventilated magnet for a 9k axle.?They are wire and 3 “ long. It says in the instructions to use your old clip, which I am missing and would like extras.

Hi Jason, yes, if you're using the Hayes oval ventilated brake magnet, part # BP01-285, then the replacement retaining clips you need are the Replacement Magnet Clips for Electric Brake Assemblies, part # BP19005. This kit includes four clips, so you'll have replacements for the missing one along with a few spares to keep on hand for future maintenance.

I know it's frustrating when the instructions say to reuse the original clips and one has gone missing. Having a few extras is never a bad idea, especially since those small parts can be easy to misplace during a brake service.

Out of curiosity, what do you usually haul with your 9,000 pound axle trailer, equipment, a camper, or something else?
