Adjustable Ball Hitch For Trailer That Pulls Landscape Trailer And Low Down Track Boat Trailer

Published 06/23/2026

Question:

I pull a landscape trailer during the week and a lower down tracker boat on weekends. One uses a 2 inch coupler and the other uses 2-5/16 inch, and my current fixed ball mount makes one trailer ride nose-high. What would you recommend?

Hey Shane, I’d go with an adjustable 2-ball mount here so you can handle both coupler sizes and clean up the trailer height issue at the same time.

If your truck has a 2" receiver, the Fastway Flash Force # FA33FR is the one I’d start with for a moderate drop range. It includes both the 2" and 2-5/16" balls, adjusts in 1" increments, and gives you up to 5" of drop or 5-1/2" of rise. If your boat trailer or landscape trailer needs more drop than that to sit level, move up to the # FA93FR, which gives you up to 7" of drop or 7-1/2" of rise. I highly doubt you'd need the big drop but you'll be able to find out soon enough by measuring the difference between the coupler height and receiver height as seen in the photo below.

The nice thing is that once you have the right height for each trailer, you can just move the platform and rotate the ball instead of keeping separate mounts in the truck. Feel free to let me know the drop you need or if you need any help during this process!
