Why Is My Everchill Refrigerator Stuck at 42 Degrees?
Updated 06/26/2026 | Published 06/20/2026 >
Question:
Im looking to replace my Ever Chill 4.3 cu. ft. frig in my 2022 Geo Pro 15TB. The frig has never worked correctly. Always 42 degrees. My question concerns the Furrion Arctic 12V 4.3 Frig. The interior picture look like my Ever Chill. Are they the same frig, only different brand?

Gordon, that's a great question, and I can definitely understand not wanting to replace one refrigerator with what ends up being essentially the same thing. Everchill is owned by Furrion, and based on your 2022 Geo Pro 15TB, it sounds like you likely have the Everchill 4.5 cu ft 12V refrigerator.
While Everchill and Furrion are under the same umbrella, that does not automatically mean the Furrion Arctic part # FR38AD is the exact same refrigerator with a different badge on the front. There have been different designs and component changes between models, so I wouldn't assume they're identical without comparing the specific model information.
Before replacing the refrigerator, I'd like to help rule out a few common causes of the cooling issue. If your refrigerator has consistently stayed around 42 degrees since new, that points to a few possible common issues.
The most common cause is ice buildup behind the freezer panel. Even a little frost can block the cold air from moving into the refrigerator section. If you see ice, turn the refrigerator off and let it fully defrost with the doors open for several hours before turning it back on.
Another possibility is the circulation fan. This fan moves cold air from the freezer into the refrigerator compartment. If the fan isn't working properly, the freezer may get cold while the refrigerator stays around 42°F. When the refrigerator is running, you should normally be able to hear or feel air moving.
It's also worth checking that food isn't blocking the vents inside the refrigerator or freezer. These smaller RV refrigerators need good airflow to cool properly.
One thing that would help narrow it down is knowing how cold the freezer gets. If the freezer is very cold but the refrigerator stays around 42°F, that usually points to an airflow issue. If both sections are warmer than they should be, the problem is likely somewhere else.
If you can provide the model number from the sticker inside your Everchill, I can compare it more closely to the Furrion Arctic and see whether you're actually getting a different refrigerator design. I'd hate to see you spend the money on a replacement only to end up with something that doesn't solve the issue you're trying to fix.
Out of curiosity, what do you typically keep in the refrigerator most often, meats, dairy, drinks, or a little bit of everything?

I know the frig has no fan witch causes condensation to form on the back wall of the frig. The freezer is cold. The model number is WD-127FDC, Thanks.
