Will # hes6 Fit 2026 Volvo XC60 Factory Hitch?

Question:
hi - trying to confirm if this extender will work for my setup. have a 2026 volvo xc60 with the oem 1.25 inch retractable hitch and a thule epos 2 bike rack. the bike rack does not fit with the oem receiver as the shank is about a quarter inch too long. ive tried the curt 1.25 hitch extender and it doesnt fit. the pin hole alignment is off by about a quarter inch the other way - issue seems to be the molding in the middle of the extender doesnt allow it to go into the receiver all the way. thank you!

Hi Kent,
If your hitch has a full three inches of clearance from the pin hole to the lip of the receiver, then the CR Brophy Hitch Extender for 1-1/4" Hitch Receivers - 5-3/4" Long # hes6 will work for you. This will be the best option since the other options top out around 2-3/4" from pin hole to weld. If you don't mind taking the measurement, I'm happy to confirm the fit for you!
Using an extender will reduce the carrying and towing capacities of your receiver by 50% so you'll want to check the weight of your cargo and confirm this would still work for you. If it won't, you may want to look into a longer shank for your rack or else a different bike rack with a longer shank.
