E-Bike Rack Recommendation for 1-1/4 inch Trailer Hitch
Updated 08/15/2025 | Published 07/19/2025 >
Question:
I had a 1 1/4inch hitch put on my 2016 Toyota Corolla S and am purchasing an Aventon Abound SR and having difficulty finding a e bike rack to transport. Will the Thule Easyfold fit this bike or the Epos? I also bought an adapter to make it 2inch but it wobbles. Would a hitch stabilizer with rubber seals fix this? So I have more options for the Rack? Please help. Or is there another Rack you would recommend? I love the folding capacity and the Ramp is important because of my age. My tongue has a 200lb capacity and 2000lb pull load. Does this limit me from carrying two e bikes? Lots of questions and I appreciate your help.

Hey Shelly, the Thule EasyFold XT bike rack part # TH903202 that you referenced is exactly what you are looking for. This is basically the only Class I hitch compatible e-bike rack available that covers everything you are looking for. It fits your hitch size directly without requiring an adapter, it can fold to make storing easy, and it has a ramp that pulls out to make loading and unloading easier as well. This rack does limit you to carrying only two bikes but with your hitch size you would always be limited to this amount of bikes since it's lower in capacity.

Hey Shelly, I'm glad the Thule EasyFold XT seems to be a good fit for your needs! How did it work out with the hitch stabilizer to reduce the wobble? I'm curious because it could really help others facing the same issue.
