Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller Displays ER on a 1999 Isuzu Bighorn (Trooper)

Question:
We have a Isuzu 1999 bighorn we towed our caravan with it and it was working now we bought a tralior with brakes and when we went to tow it we have ER coming up on display and cant tow it Please can u explain what is er meaning is it errow for what as we cant find a chart for telling us what they mean thanks

ER is not one of the display messages covered by the troubleshooting chart in the instructions for the Primus # TK90160 which I have linked to the right for you. Because you are seeing ER that is a good indication that there is a major internal problem and the controller will need to be replaced which is the case with other Tekonsha controllers that display ER. A major error inside the controller could happen if the positive and negative wires were reversed by accident.
