This device is designed specifically to deter rodents by emitting ultrasonic frequencies between 25 kHz and 45 kHz that target the hearing and nervous systems of mice and rats. Birds generally cannot hear frequencies in that range, so they are unlikely to be affected by the unit.

I know that's probably not the answer you were hoping for, especially when you're trying to keep birds from settling in and making a mess. For an open barn, physical deterrents such as bird netting, exclusion barriers, or bird-specific deterrent products are typically much more effective than ultrasonic rodent repellents. Even a predator decoy may work such as owls or scarecrows.
