Can I Use the Pollak Mounting Bracket part # PK12711U to install the Bulldog Winch Shut-Off Switch?

Published 06/11/2026

Question:

Hi, Id like to install this switch to isolate both a 12K recovery winch and an emergency jumper cable port. In reading the Q/As, it is suggested to use bracket PK12711U to mount this switch. The switch data indicates it needs a 2.5inch mounting hole but the bracket is shown to have a central hole of only 2-3/16. That says they are incompatible unless the mounting plate is either ground or drilled out to fit. Are these actually compatible or is there another mounting plate you sell that will work/fit this switch? Thanx, Brian

Hi Brian,

The Bulldog Winch 500 Amp Shut Off Switch part # BDW20248 does work with the Pollak Mounting Bracket part # PK12711U. We have a video of one of our technicians using the bracket to install the switch and when the switch is inserted through the bracket with the plastic flange behind the metal bracket, the mounting holes on the switch's flange and the bracket line up so they can be screwed together. I've included the video link as well as a screenshot of the two installed together, you can see it right at the beginning of the video. The measurements between the two are so close that it doesn't appear to have needed to be modified to fit.

Where are you planning on mounting the shut off switch?
