Updated 06/10/2026 | Published 06/08/2026

Question:

I have a 2023 Grand Design 2670mk and upgraded the 4400lb axles to 5200lb axles. Need springs now as well. Just wanted to make sure these are adequate and will take the wet bolt kit. Thank you, Bruce

Hey Bruce, thanks for reaching out. Yes, the 4-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 5,000-lb Trailer Axles # e44SR will absolutely be adequate for the 5,200 lb axles on your 2023 Grand Design 2670mk. As long as the original springs were also 25-1/4" long, you'll be good to go there.

Those springs will work just fine with a wet bolt kit. They come with pre-inserted nylon bushings, so those will need to be removed and replaced with the bronze bushings that come with the wet bolt kit.

As far as choosing the wet bolt kit, you'll just need to make sure we match up the shackle strap length. They should be either 2-1/4" long or 3-1/8" long so please double check that and select from the following:

- MORryde Suspension Upgrade Kit for Tandem Axle Trailers - 2-1/4" Long Shackle Straps # MR46ZR

- MORryde Suspension Upgrade Kit for Tandem Axle Trailers - 3-1/8" Long Shackle Straps # MR76ZR

Also, since you are replacing the leaf springs and axles, you'll need new U-bolts as well. For that I recommend the CE Smith U-Bolt Kit # CE23003. You'll need one kit per axle.

What upgrades or cargo led to the axle swap?
