Hello Matt,

Thanks for writing in, I'm glad you found us!

The etrailer Electric Trailer Jack # e74GV can draw up to 30 amps under a full load. The actual current draw will vary depending on how much weight the jack is lifting, but 30 amps is the maximum draw you should plan for when sizing wiring, fuses, or power sources.

One feature I really like about this jack is that it includes a manual override. If you ever lose power at the campsite or have a dead battery, you can still raise or lower the jack by hand. I added a picture of my buddy Matt using the manual override so you can see how it works in the real world. It's a simple backup feature, but it can save the day when you're trying to hitch up and the battery isn't cooperating.

Are you planning to use this on a travel trailer, cargo trailer, or something else? Where are your next adventures taking you?

I have been using the jack for about a year now. I has been flawless. It comes with the seven pin connector that you plug into the truck and you can use the jack. I did use waterproof connectors and did connect it to the trailer. You do have that option. I wish you safe travels and many happy camping adventures.

@Bob Thanks for the response Bob. Great call on using the waterproof connectors in case he wants to get rid of the 7 way down the road. -Safe Travels to you as well =)
