Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this Demco eZ-Latch Flat Plate Mount Trailer Coupler for a two and five 16ths inch diameter hitch ball. Has a 21,000 pound gross towing weight capacity. Now, this ball couple right here will bolt directly to your trailer and lets you hook up the trailer to your tow vehicle. Basically up front here, it provides the connection point right here for a two and five 16ths inch diameter hitch ball. So this coupler's ideal for utility, livestock, cargo, and even construction trailers.

We mentioned it's a flat plate mount. So basically, you'll see right here, this flat mounting plate was designed to bolt directly to your trailer. The bolt holes here is five eights inch diameter. Now the bolts are not included, you would have to supply those. We also sell those separately on a website.

And the bolt pattern on the mounting plate, If we measure horizontally center to center, the bolt hole is gonna be right at four and a half inches that way. And if we do vertically center to center, four and a half inches that way. Other neat feature on this coupler is this easy latch mechanism right here, which ensures a nice, simple, secure hook up and disconnect. It'll basically let you hook up when the latch is in the closed position like it is now. You just drop the coupler over the hitch ball and the latch will snap into place.

I do wanna demonstrate that. Happen to pull a two and five 16ths diameter hitch ball. So you can see when you put your coupler over the ball, push down, you can see that it'll latch in there and you're all ready to go. And if you notice that latch just popped up a little bit, so what's unique about that as you don't have to open it up, drop it under the ball, close it to lock it. This one, just leave it like that, pop it into place, you're ready to go.

To remove it, you just have to open it and remove it just like that. But again, just to show you, snaps on just like that. Simple to install, simple to remove. The other nice thing is this handle right here. It's a corrosion-proof composite latch handle. Makes it very durable and impact resistant. And because it has a nice, low profile design of the handle, helps protect the coupler from any damage by allowing any potential hazards to just simply slide over the top of it. This will help prevent anything from getting under the latch handle on releasing the ball and it also limit any damage to the coupler should an impact occur. Also, unlike most couplers which have a pinhole on the handle latch, the eZ-Latch Coupler features this hole right here on the side of the coupler itself, right down here. It is a five 16ths diameter hole, and that'll allow you to insert a coupler lock through this hole and then it'll keep that latch from lifting, so it'll prevent disconnect and theft. As I mentioned, the hole diameter's five 16ths of an inch. Now when you do buy a coupler lock, you do wanna get one that has a minimum span of at least three inches. That's the width from here to here. Now, this is a heavy duty cast construction, has a nice, prime finish to it. Specs again. Fits a two and 5 6 16 diameter hitch ball, and the weight capacity is 21,000 pounds.
