Question:
My Torque toy hauler is prepped for the Tire Linc monitoring system. I assume this means the sensors have been installed. Is there a way to verify the sensors have been installed so I know if I need to purchase sensors with the repeater?

Hey Stephen, thanks for reaching out. So, “Prepped for Tire Linc” usually just means the trailer already has the Tire Linc repeater/prep wiring installed from the factory, not necessarily the actual tire sensors. On a lot of Heartland Torque toy haulers, the prep package includes the repeater mounted underneath the coach near the axles with power already wired in, but the valve stem sensors still have to be purchased separately.
The easiest way to verify is to physically check the valve stems on the trailer tires. If sensors are installed, you’ll see small black or silver Tire Linc sensor caps threaded onto the stems instead of regular valve caps. You can also look underneath near the axles for the repeater module, usually a small black box with wires going to 12V power. If you have the Tire Linc app or display, you can try putting it in pairing mode too, because installed sensors will usually show up pretty quickly. Most of the time when RVs are advertised as “prepped,” though, owners still end up needing to buy the sensor kit.
We offer the sensors in pairs as part # LC97VR. You'll also need a cap wrench like part # TST89FR to install the theft-resistant covers.

Thanks Jesse, I was thinking about internal sensors strapped to the wheels like my last trailer had. Do the Lippert systems only come with valve stem caps?
