Can DeeMaxx Caliper Brackets Be Used With Kodiak Kodaguard Calipers?

Updated 05/21/2026 | Published 05/18/2026

Question:

Im replacing my disc brakes rotors, calipers and pads on my 2017 Contenental Tandem Axles Boat Trailer with 6,000 lb. axles.... Question: Can I used the caliper mounting brackets that are from DeeMaxx to mount these replacement Kodiak Kodaguard Calipers with the Kodiak Gal-Dex Slip on cap style 12inch rotors? Any information would be helpful? Thanks, Jim

Hey Jim, thanks for reaching out. No, you cannot use DeeMaxx brackets with Kodiak calipers. It's never a good idea to mix and match brands with disc brake parts. The brackets and calipers are similar between brands but not identical. Even if the dimensions of either part are off by a hair, it will put stuff out of alignment. A lot of times what we see when mixing brackets and calipers is the pads dragging on the rotor. All it takes is a very slight difference to throw things off. You will need to use the matching Kodiak caliper brackets if you intend to use the Kodiak Kodaguard Calipers.

The brackets come with the disc brake kits, but if you need the brackets by themselves we have those as part # KCMB12D. But again, if you get a full kit like the # K2R526DKG you were looking at, that will come with matched calipers and brackets.

Was there a particular reason you were wanting to use the DeeMaxx brackets?

I would agree 100% with Jim but also add as a purchaser of this setup it’s all plug and play and time is money , personally I would rather be fishing then changing my trailer brakes so if I can install this Kodiak setup and get it done quickly then it’s a win win! Good luck Sam
