Will a Saris Bones 2 Bike Rack Fit Over the Factory Spoiler on a 2021 Toyota Camry XSE?

Question:

When the specs say does not fit over spoiler, does that mean aftermarket spoiler or does that include the OEM that the specific car model has. Im asking specifically for my 2021 Camry XSE with no modifications.

The “does not fit over spoiler” note can apply to both factory OEM spoilers and aftermarket spoilers, depending on the vehicle and spoiler design. In the case of your 2021 Toyota Camry XSE though, Saris does list the Bones 2 Bike Rack # SA805BL as a confirmed fit, so the factory spoiler on your Camry is not an issue for this particular rack.

What that warning really means is that some spoilers are too large or sit in a position that prevents the rack from making proper contact with the vehicle. Since trunk-mounted bike racks rely on specific strap angles and contact points for support, certain spoiler designs can interfere with a safe installation. Saris has tested the fit on the Camry XSE and confirmed that the spoiler shape still allows the rack to mount correctly when installed using their recommended settings.

So in your case, you can safely use the Saris Bones 2 # SA805BL on your Camry with the factory spoiler as long as the rack is installed according to the fit guide instructions from Saris.

I found the Saris Bones 2 did not fit securely on my 2018 Honda CRV. Fortunately, it does fit on my husband's 2010 Honda Fit. Since my bike is a step through, I also had to purchase the bar that the bike needs to fit on the rack. It has taken me a while to feel secure with the bike on the Fit. I found that a Bungie cord attached to the lower frame of the bike and the bike rack makes a big difference in the movement of the bike while driving.

i have a Specialized Rockhopper and and a Giant Sedona "vintage" years! Ha! Any special mounting issues for the Giant Sedona? Local transport to local trails mostly. Maybe an occasional long trip... probably;y less than 3hr drive.
