Can You Install Caliber Bunk Wrap Over Existing Trailer Carpet?

Hi Tim, this kit part # CA43AJ is not designed to go over existing carpet, it actually replaces it and installs directly onto the bare bunk boards. The wrap needs a solid, flat surface to sit correctly, so leaving the carpet in place can cause a poor fit and trap moisture underneath, which can lead to uneven bunks over time.

I know it’s tempting to save the step of removing the carpet, but taking it off first will give you a much cleaner install and better long term results. Once the wraps are on, you’re pretty much done with bunk maintenance since they don’t hold water or wear down like carpet, and they make loading and unloading a lot smoother.
