Soft Start for Refrigerated Trailer With 120V Refrigeration Unit

So I have a refrigerated trailer with 120 V refrigeration unit inside that max amps are 13.5 I’m having a hard time with startup running on a 4500 W 30 amp plugged generator inverter. Just wondering what soft star unit would work the best for that application.?

Hey Anthony! For your application the best option would be the Active Controls ActiveStart Plug-In Soft Start for RVs - 30 Amp # AS44FR. This is specifically designed to reduce compressor startup amperage and works great with generators that struggle during startup.

If you want built-in surge protection as well, we also have the ActiveStart Plug-In Soft Start with Surge Protection - 30 Amp # AS94FR. Since you're only pulling 13.5 amps, a 30 amp soft start is the correct size for your setup.
