Can Roadmaster Comfort Ride System be Installed on 2019 Passport with 42 inch Wheelbase

Updated 05/11/2026 | Published 05/02/2026

Question:

I would like to install the Roadmaster Comfort Ride on my 2019 Passport 2520rlwe. What concerns me is the “Load Equalization” spread axel design. Is there a center hanger that would be long enough to accommodate this design? Or longer springs? I believe it is a 42” spread as opposed to a typical 35” spread between axels. Thank you

Hey Kevin, so we have a solution but the full Comfort Ride kits can't be used with the 42 inch wide wheelbase as the center equalizer isn't long enough. But what you can do is install the shock kit part # RM-2460 to get the majority of the benefit of the Comfort Ride system on the wider wheelbase setup like what you have on your 2019 Passport 2520RLWE.

How is the ride quality currently?

I added just the shocks to my 2024 grand design 27BN 5th wheel, the tow was greatly improved with less chucking. Items in the trailer were not bouncing all over on rough roadways. Would definitely recommend for improvement in towing. Took two days to complete installation, not that difficult. Etrailer videos are very helpful, drilling upper holes for the brackets are hardest part.

The ride is ok. The problem is that the spring are worn put and fairly flat. It is not overloaded. (We have been over scales and weighed it.) So I am wanting to get new springs. I have 4 EM88UJ, MR46ZR, MR34AR, and 4 CE23002 in my cart. Would these things be correct?

@Kevin Yep! All of those parts will work great and would be correct based on your axle capacity of 3,500 lbs and your wider wheelbase. # CE23002 # MR34AR # MR46ZR # EM88UJ
