Question:
I’d love to run my air conditioner off batteries when we stop for lunch or a quick break. NOT all day. Which of these Victron inverters would actually do that?

Hey Chris! It really comes down to both inverter size and battery system.
The smaller units like Victron 1,000w inverters # VN55ZR 12V and # VN44RR 24V aren’t going to handle an AC unit - they’re built for lighter loads.
The Victron 2,400w Quattro II # VN42VR 12V and # VN58ZR 24V can get you closer, especially with a soft start installed on the AC. For short bursts - like cooling down during a stop - they can work in the right setup. Long term or all night would still be a little tricky but they could do it with an efficient ac system like the newer Furrion Chill units.
If you’re serious about running AC more reliably and if you decide to run it all night, the 4,000w Victron Quattro # VN95VR 48V is the strongest option here - but that requires stepping up to a 48V battery bank and a much larger system overall.
That said, AC is one of the toughest loads out there, so battery capacity and expectations matter just as much as inverter size.
What kind of battery bank are you currently running, and are you looking for quick cool-downs or longer runtime?
