When heavier loads push limited shore power too far, this unit adds battery support through PowerAssist to carry the demand. With 2,400 watts continuous output and dual AC outputs, it keeps priority loads running while managing battery use.
When a microwave, coffee maker, or residential fridge pushes a 15 amp hookup, 30 amp hookup, or small generator too hard, this unit steps in with PowerAssist and PowerControl to prevent overload of a limited generator or shore power source and boost available AC power using battery energy during peak demand. It pairs that load support with 2,400 watts of continuous output power at 77ºF and 6,000 watts of peak power. In real use, that gives you more room to run heavier AC loads when incoming power is the bottleneck.
Short power interruptions can reset a residential refrigerator or knock sensitive electronics offline right when shore power or generator input changes. This inverter switches to inverter operation in under 20 milliseconds with UPS functionality to keep sensitive electronics running. The practical payoff is that connected loads stay powered through the handoff instead of shutting down during the switch.
Running every circuit through the inverter can drain batteries faster than expected when AC input is lost. This unit uses 2 AC outputs with no-break functionality on the main output and a secondary output that is active only when AC input is available. In real setups, that keeps priority circuits powered while non-essential loads stay off the battery when shore or generator power is not present.
Higher inverter output can drain a 12V battery bank quickly, and slow charging stretches out recovery time after heavier AC loads. This unit uses 4-stage adaptive battery charging with 120 amps for the house battery and an independent 4 amp trickle charge output for a starter battery. That gives the charger the output to recover the main battery bank faster while also maintaining the starter side.
A lot of inverter chargers in this size range top out as one-box installs that need full replacement once power demands grow. This unit supports parallel operation with up to 6 units, plus 3-phase operation and split-phase configuration options supporting 120-0-120 V operation with stacked units and additional parallel capacity. That gives you a 12V starting point that can grow into a larger system instead of forcing a complete restart later.

Hi everyone, Steven here with etrailer. Today we're taking a look at this Victron Energy multiplus pure sine Wave inverter Charger. Now folks, this is an all-in-one that's gonna bring reliable AC power and smart energy management to your 12 volt power system. So whether you're on the grid connected to shore power or running off batteries, the multiplus here is gonna deliver up to 3000 VAs of continuous power to run your appliances, tools and electronics with clean, stable 120 volt AC output. Again, this is a pure sine wave inverter, so that means that it's safe for sensitive gear and loads you can depend on. Now when shore power or generator power is available, this unit doesn't just pass power through.
No, it's gotta actually take that, charge the batteries with up to 120 amps of adaptive multi-stage charging and that's gonna help extend your battery life and also keep your system ready to go. One of the standout features I like is its power assist, which helps prevent overloads on limited AC sources by supplementing with battery power when you need it. And it's also great for handling those larger loads without having to worry about tripping breakers. As you can see, you're gonna get the mounting bracket for the back that it's gonna hang on, and then also a couple of ends for your wire leads and then some screws and stuff as well. Now this is kind of beefy, so make sure you're being careful when you load it and install it.
It's 14 and five 16th inches tall overall, 10 and three 16th inches wide and eight and five eight inches deep from front to back. Now what's neat about this, if the grid or shore power fails, this has a multiplus that's gonna switch to inverter mode in milliseconds, acting like a UPS or a backup battery. Basically keeping your critical electronics running smoothly without any interruption. This can also support parallel operation, meaning you can have more power or three-phase setups. It's gonna integrate with Victron's monitoring systems, their serbo gx, the VRM portal, and that way you can see and control your system remotely as well.
So again, folks for RVs off-grid systems, big marine applications or small, or just a basic backup power system where you need dependable AC power and you want intelligent charging, this Victron multiplus inverter charger is gonna be a great option for you. And again, you can see all the light indicators and stuff up in the front as well. So to close up here before we go, let's go ahead and carefully tilt this down so you can take a look. So as you can see, you got the cooling fan down here, some inputs, and then you even got the extra wire and stuff there that comes from the manufacturer. I just left that kind of zip tied down there for now.
So again, folks, as always, if you have any questions about this or any of the product we carry, reach out to us here at etrailer. We're more than happy to assist you. And if you don't wanna tackle a job like this installing something like this along with your other Victron parts and accessories, we can actually help you find a local dealer in your area with our vehicle or with our dealer locator tool rather, and we can put you in contact with them so you can have someone that you trust and that we trust as well do the installation for you. I'm Steven, thanks so much for watching. Have a great day.
