Suspension Enhancement for 2024 Toyota Tundra SR5 CrewMax TRD Sport

Updated 04/22/2026 | Published 04/15/2026

Question:

Hello, I have a 2024 Toyota Tundra SR5 crewmax TRD Sport 4x4. I noticed when I have a load in the bed or towing even a pop up camper, the bed squats quite a bit. I have seen a lot of people recommend the Sumo Springs and wondered if you might be able to help with which product might be the best option for me to help address the squat issue. Would the Sumo Springs help with the squat? Will they affect my normal ride with no load? Any cons to getting these or are there other products that might be better? Thank you for your help.

Hey Chad! Adding SumoSprings like the # SSR-312-47 will reduce that rear sag and let you tow/haul level. They're also really nice because the impact on unloaded ride quality is minimal if you even notice at all. The only real con is that they lack adjustability, but on the flip side they require no maintenance. They're a good all around option for situations like yours.

The right set depends on what you're doing. Since you tow a pop up camper I would say the tongue weight is probably minimal. If you aren't hauling anything close to the 1,500 lb load support of the # SSR-312-47 then these are the right option. If you're hauling heavier loads I would step it up to the 2,800 lb # SSR-312-54 instead.

What are you typically hauling?

I have purchased two sets SumoSprings, one for a 2020 Nissan Titan and another set for my 2021 Ram 2500. For the Nissan, I went with the lower rated blue springs and for a bumper pull single horse trailer, it really leveled out the truck and smoothed out the ride while towing. On my Ram 2500, I went with the yellow springs because of the gooseneck ball hitch. Same positive response. Installation was easy, on both trucks I did not need to remove the rear tires, only jack the frame up the frame to give me a little more room to work with. The springs have enough room that unless you are loaded, the ride is factory until weight is placed on the bed or hitch. Really good product-------highly recommend SumoSprings.
