Updated 04/22/2026 | Published 04/06/2026

Question:

Have 2024 Entegra Aspire flat towing a 2025 wrangler using a blue ox tow bar We presently have a dual bike carrier and cover on the jeep, the government and bikes obscure the jeep tail / brake lights and don’t allow access to to the rear of the jeep Looking for suggestions on a setup to have the bike carrier on the Aspire while flat towing

Hello Tom,

Great question, and you are absolutely right to be concerned. When the bikes are blocking the Jeep’s tail lights, it creates a real safety issue and increases the risk of someone not seeing your brake or turn signals in time.

The best solution here is to move the bike rack to the back of the motorhome using a dual receiver setup. I would recommend something like the Gen-Y Adjustable 2-Ball Mount with Stacked Receivers, part # 325-GH-414. This will let you run your Blue Ox tow bar in one receiver and mount your bike rack in another, while still allowing you to adjust for the correct drop to keep your tow bar level.

To set it up, you would install the Gen-Y into the RV’s hitch, mount your tow bar in the receiver that keeps it level with the Jeep, and then use the upper receiver for your bike rack. This gets the bikes off the Jeep, keeps your lights fully visible, and gives you full access to the rear of the Wrangler again.

Another option is the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter, part # RM-077-2, which works similarly, but the Gen-Y tends to give you more flexibility with height adjustment.

A couple things to confirm so we get this dialed in correctly: do you currently use a drop receiver to keep your tow bar level, and if so, what drop are you running? Also, what bike rack are you using? It is important that the rack is rated for use on the back of an RV or while flat towing due to the added movement.

Where do you usually like to ride when you travel?

Your response states "something like the Gen-Y Adjustable 2-Ball Mount with Stacked Receivers, part # 325-GH-414." do you feel the 325-GH414 is the best option?

@TomK I sent you a direct email yesterday, for some reason it was not letting me comment on here. It is most important that we keep you level towing, do you currently need a drop or rise to acheive that?
