Roadmaster Rear Sway Bar Compatibility with Rear Track Bar on 2015 Fleetwood Flair V10

Will the roadmaster sway bar for my 2015 Fleetwood flare V 10 interfere with my rear track bar?

Hi Bill, that’s a really good question and you’re right to think about how those parts interact before adding anything new. A rear sway bar and a rear track bar usually don’t mount in the exact same spot, but they do share the same general area around the axle and frame and each one is doing a different job.

The Roadmaster sway bar part # RM-1139-146 helps control body roll side to side, while the track bar keeps the axle centered under the coach. From what Roadmaster has told us, their sway bar typically mounts a bit further toward the rear of the axle, while most track bars sit a little more forward, so in many setups they can work together without issue. That said, there are enough variations in brackets and designs that I wouldn’t want to promise clearance without taking a closer look.

If your track bar is aftermarket, the brand and model will help me verify fitment, and if it’s factory, a quick photo of how it’s mounted will let me check for any potential interference so you don’t end up with contact, noise, or premature wear.

Where do you usually take your Flair most, out on windy interstates or up through mountain grades?

The extra rear sway bar I added does not interfere with my track bar on my 2015 Storm. Which is similar to the Flair.

@HeatherA I have a homemade tack bar, but it attaches and is designed like the the name brand ones. Ill send a Pic if I can find it.

I installed the additional Roadmaster rear trac bar on my 2013 Winnebago Vista 27N and it went on without any issues, I also changed out the front sway bar to the larger Roadmaster, and it also went on without any issues. My RV is 18K on F53 Frame, I also added a sway bar on the rear, I just had my front end aligned with the front wheel bearings repacked and installed the roadmaster steering stabilizer. It has helped very much. I am thinking about adding the front trac bar and I think I would be complete with about all the improvements I can make.

@Kurt It sounds like you’ve really dialed in your setup on that Vista, nice work. Before jumping into a front trac bar, it really comes down to what you’re still feeling behind the wheel. A front trac bar is typically most helpful if you’re noticing side-to-side movement of the front axle, especially when getting passed by trucks or dealing with crosswinds. Since you’ve already added a steering stabilizer, you’ve covered a big part of controlling wander and steering correction, so a front trac bar would be more about tightening up that lateral movement if it’s still there. Do you also have a steering stabilizer?
