Can You Use Stake Pockets With The Pace Edwards Switchblade Retractable Hard Tonneau Cover PE46QJ?

Question:

Is there any way to use the Stake Pockets with this cover. This cover seem to cover up the pockets just enough to not be able to use them. Thanks

Hey Randy, good question. The Pace Edwards Switchblade Retractable Hard Tonneau Cover # PE46QJ does partially cover the stake pockets. So that makes using stake pocket accessories tricky. There are certain accessories that don't take up the entire stake pocket hole that can work as long as the hardware can be tightened fully, but if you are using a stake pocket insert that takes up the entire hole, it would not work.

What were you wanting to use the stake pockets for?

@RandyS Yes we do have a ladder rack that will work along with the Pace Edwards cover. The Thule Xscape Adjustable Truck Bed Rack with SR Base Rails # TH34FR46BX is what I recommend. The SR rails attach to the stake pockets but the stake pocket inserts can still be installed and the hardware can still be fully tightened. The SR rails will butt up against the tonneau rails but we've had a ton of customers use this combination successfully. The crossbars have a top channel which can be used to mount a bike carrier. What kind of bikes do you have? Know how much they weigh?

@Randall Nice! So the best option for carrying those is the Kuat Piston SR Roof Bike Rack # KU32VR. It can support bikes weighing up to 67 lbs apiece and it works with larger tires up to 5" wide. It can mount to the top channel on the Thule crossbar. It is lockable too - a very slick and durable setup.
