Question:
How do you wire the Furrion camera system so that it has dedicated 12v power? I would like to use this as a security system, but all comments I read say you need to leave trailer lights on- not really practical when parked or sleeping.

Hey Edward! The reason you're seeing the lights need to be on is because most people tie the Furrion Vision S+ # FR57AD into their running light circuit. Are you wanting the camera on the rear to have constant power? You will have to tie it into the nearest 12V power source, or run a separate wire to the battery.
Any lights that run on a switch will work, you just need to connect to the wire on the battery side of the switch. If you're wanting to put a camera over the trailer door then your porch light is the best option. You can add an extra camera # FR24AD if you want one on the rear and over your door. We also have the # FR74AD which has the side marker cameras, rear camera, and then a camera for the door.
What kind of trailer do you have?

The only thing I would add to Robin's answer is: keep in mind that you're tying into 12v, so leaving it on is one more drain on your battery/batteries. Without knowing your system, it needs to pointed out as a reminder, in case you aren't setup for boondocking/dry camping (solar, generator, etc.)
