Do you have a 4-way to 7-way converter kit that uses 10AWG wires for the +12V and GND?

Hi Eric; the only pre-wired adapter with 10 gauge was made by Hopkins and they just shut down about a month ago. If you really want to have 10 gauge power and ground you will have to put it together yourself. You can use the Pollak Black Plastic, 7-Pole, RV Blade-Style Trailer Socket # PK12-707E along with the Wiring Kit for 2, 4, 6, and 8 Brake Electric Trailer Brake Controllers # 5506.

You will hardwire your existing 4-way into the connector, then use the 10-2 wire from the wiring kit for the rest. This comes with 25' of wire so you can run the power and brake output, then use some of the leftover wire for the ground. If you don't think that will be enough (not sure what vehicle this is or how long it is) you can pick up additional 10 gauge wire # 10-1-1.

Is there a specific reason you need 10 gauge? What are you setting up?

Need to be able to supply about 20A to the trailer to run the DC-DC converter for charging a LIon battery.

@EricK 12 gauge will do it. I doubt you're running the wire so far that you need to up it to 10 gauge to avoid voltage drop, but at the same time it won't hurt to use the 10.

I would run a marine battery, and have the DC to DC charger pull off that Generally the fuses for the + wire on 7 way are 20 amps. Then run a 12ga wire from 7 way + to battery to maintain battery.
