Replacement Bearings For Dexter #10 Axle

Updated 03/21/2026 | Published 03/18/2026

Question:

I have the Dexter axle 49862-2 in my Kendon trailer. It is rated at 2400. It has serial number 3337826. This is an axle that is just a few years old. I wanted to know what bearings and seals are used in this axle. Thanks

Hi David, I totally get wanting to be sure you’ve got the right parts before tearing into it. What you need for your setup is the complete bearing kit part # BK1-150.

Based on your Dexter 2,400 lb axle, that is typically a #10 spindle, which uses the same bearing for both the inner and outer. The standard setup for that is L44649 for both the inner and outer bearings, with the matching L44610 races, and a 10-9 grease seal that measures 1.500 inch inner diameter and 1.987 inch outer diameter. That BK1-150 kit lines up with those specs and is the most common fit for this axle size.

What do you usually haul with your Kendon, motorcycles, ATVs, or something else?

I have used these bearings and seals on my Big Tex trailer with Dexter axles and have had no problems with them and I do multiple 500 mile trips with it all the time.

@JohnS that’s great to hear and I really appreciate you sharing that. putting that kind of mileage on your setup regularly is a solid test. Where do you take the trailer? Work or something fun?
