Can GearSpace 34 Enclosed Cargo Carrier Hold Two Bicycles

Question:

Gear space 34, can this unit hold 2 bicycles? And is if so is it lockable?

Hey Marc! We have had customers successfully store two bikes with the front wheels removed in the GearSpace 34 Enclosed Cargo Carrier # HGK819. However, it really depends on the dimensions of the bikes.

The inside dimensions of the carrier are 63" long x 28" wide x 40" tall so you can use that to determine if your bikes will fit. Also yes, it does lock so everything inside remains secure.

I have placed two ebikes in the carrier. The frames fold and I removed the batteries to lighten them for lifting. Easily closed and locked.

Hey Marc, Yes the unit is lockable. I don't use it for bikes so can not help you there. However this unit is outstanding, Super easy to install and it holds a lot of stuff and keeps everything dry. We but it through an hard test! We traveled over 7000 miles through really bad weather, bad wind, snow, and rain everything was dry and intact. I am super happy with the Cargo Carrier. I bought the unit to transport wheel chairs. Two foldable, full size chairs fit with room for more items. You will want to get a tarp or packing blanket to wrap around the bikes or they will rub and mar the finish. As for locking, there are two locking pins on the two cover pieces, however, those will keep honest people out. If a thief knows there are bikes in there and wants them, the locks are just a nuisance. You can do some drilling and install a bolt through the bottom and chain your bikes to that inside the bin. Note: we sold ours because it mounted very high on our RV and we opted to tow a hatchback instead.
