Upgraded Roof Vent With Fan In 2016 Jayco Jay Flight To Exhaust Shower Humidity & Steam In Bathroom

Updated 02/26/2026 | Published 02/25/2026

Question:

I have a 2016 Jayco Jay Flight with a standard square shaped crank-up vent in the bathroom. I mostly want something to exhaust shower humidity. Is the pivoting fan god for that, or would it help?

Good morning Mark, the MaxxAir roof vent with fan # MA96WV (white lid) or # MA36WV (smoked black lid) would actually be a noticeable upgrade for bathroom humidity.

You can pivot the housing outward to exhaust steam, and at 400 CFM it will clear moisture much faster than a basic bath vent. With four speeds, you don’t have to run it full blast every time either. You can also aim it to the inside to bring in air from outside, or blow air through your bathroom for more airflow.

It fits the same 14 inch x 14 inch opening, so it’s a straightforward swap. It comes with a shroud that can be trimmed if need be, but it likely won't need to be trimmed.

Are you planning to replace just the bathroom vent, or thinking about upgrading the main living area too if you have one there?

Andrew, that helps a lot. I checked and it does look like the standard 14x14 opening. My only concern is noise. Are these pretty loud on high speed?

@Mark Hey, so these units are very quiet. On the lower speeds they’re pretty mild. On high speed, you’ll definitely hear airflow since it’s moving up to 400 CFM, but it’s more of a steady air sound than a sharp motor noise.
