Looking For Upgraded Axle And Tires For Harbor Freight Trailer Conversion

Good afternoon I have a Harbor freight trailer and would like to make it more highway ready I am turning it into a kayak trailer so possibly a different axle and better tires any recommendations would be helpful thank you

Hey Karl, thanks for reaching out. We may have the parts you need but there is no way to look up your trailer to know exactly what axle or tires you'd need, so I will need you to confirm some specs.
For the axle, the main specs we need to nail down are the weight capacity, hub face length and spring center length. There might be a sticker on the axle that shows this. If not you will need to measure. While you are at it, also check your hub bolt pattern, and tire size.
Are you wanting to go with larger tires than what came stock? If so, that may be possible as long as there is enough clearance in the wheel well/fender area. Ideally you want 3" between the tire and fender, and at least 1" between the inside of the tire and the trailer frame. One we know what size tires you are running, and how much clearance you have currently, we can know if larger tires will be an option or now. Hopefully we could at least get you something similar but with a higher speed rating for highway use.
