Question:
There is a fair amount of lateral and vertical play with the ball mount and the receiver on my 2009 GMC Yukon. I just purchased a 6inch 17K capacity ball mount and pull an 8000 pound boat trailer. Starting and stopping the slack pops and is uncomfortable. What will fix this that is not too expensive? I saw a gizmo that was basically a squared off U joint with a crossmember that is tightened with nuts.

The Roadmaster Quiet Hitch # RM-061 that you referenced (and many similar items) are intended for use only when flat-towing a vehicle, but are not suitable for use with a trailer. One option that you can try is the Malone # MPG908 Anti-Rattle system. This item is shown in the linked video.
