Question:

Could this cover be used behind a cross bed tool box? I am a veterinarian with a 42” fiberglass vet boxon an 8’ f350 And /or would one of the harder roll up into the box type units work used “shorter”?

The only tonneau cover designed to work with a toolbox that fits your 8' bed 2026 Ford F-350 is the Access Toolbox Edition Soft, Roll-Up Tonneau Cover item # A61409. It's designed to work with toolboxes that mount across the bed rails and go 19"–21" into your truck bed.

Who made your vetbox or what model is it? I'm familiar with them so if you could give me some information on which specific one you have or email me a picture directly I can see what options we have that will work with it.

@MarkR You're welcome and thanks for the information! Those are real nice boxes. However, I do not see a way to install a tonneau cover with it. Even with the additional length of the 8' bed you would only have 4-1/2' left to install a cover. We do have cover's for beds that short for the Ford Maverick but the width won't be anywhere close to what you need. Install the etrailer item # e52DR, you were originally looking at, would require massive modifications to the structure and then you would still have an excess 2' of cover material.

Thanks Jerred, Let me share one more idea for my own clarity. The 6' toolbox friendly product on my 8'truck,Large vet box tool box equipped truck. My brain/math want to say 6ft truck bed is72"minus ~~20" for the generic tool box leaves 52" which is almost exactly MY open length behind my tool box. Am I still thinking wrong? Thanks Mark

@MarkR Hey Mark. The 2026 F-350's short bed is 6-3/4" long so 81". The 8' Bed - Access Toolbox Edition Soft Tonneau Cover item # A61409 is going to be 76" long. The 6-3/4' Bed - Access Toolbox Edition Soft Tonneau Cover item # A61399 to going to be 61" long.
