Question:
Just purchased a 2003 Wells Cargo 24foot enclosed trailer. Im looking to purchase a hitch lock for it but having a hard time finding one compatable for this model. 2 5/16inch ball and appears to be very heavy duty. What are some key words, style, or model i need to search for? Picture attached

Hey Jason! The easiest option would be to use the Trimax Trailer Coupler Latch or Door Lock # TMX26SR. You will run this lock through the hole in the trigger latch to keep it secure. You can also use a lock like the Trimax Universal Trailer Coupler Lock # TMX47FR which will fit that 2-5/16" coupler. If you want to look around for others you can search for trigger latch locks or 2-5/16" coupler locks and you will see some other styles/options.
What do you plan to hall with your Wells Cargo trailer?

I’m happy with the coupler lock I bought here. It’s easy to use and should work on any coupler lock.

I went with the Trimax Trailer Coupler Latch or Door Lock # TMX26SR. Watched a few videos and purchased a couple different ones and this seemed the best. What I did do is add a few small washers to take up the space so that the bar going through the hole in the trigger latch was not visible. Not visible means it would be harder to cut through. I use it when the trailer is connected to my truck. I also have this ML389DAT I use this one when the trailer is sitting in the yard

Thank you for the response Robin. I was actually referring to the coipler type. I've been considering Proven Industries coupler locks but the rolled lip may seem to limit what may fit.
