Updated 01/27/2026 | Published 01/10/2026

Question:

I have a small trailer for.agricultural use and would like to change the trailer hitch from the ball style to a pin style to tow. What options are there. We have the capability to cut and weld.

Hi Frank; I'm assuming you're talking about a clevis attachment. You can use something like the Flint Hill Goods 2-Tang Clevis for 2" Hitch # FHG52VR in place of the ball mount you have now (assuming you have a 2" receiver and need a 1" hole). However, we don't carry the parts to convert the trailer side and replace the coupler. I recommend reaching out to a local shop to see if they have what you need for the trailer side of your conversion.

Hey Frank, were you able to find a local shop to help with the trailer-side conversion for your hitch setup? Knowing what worked could help others looking to switch from a ball to a pin-style connection.
