Replacement Fridge for Norcold N7LX 3F in 2022 Arctic Fox 990

Updated 01/09/2026 | Published 01/08/2026

Question:

I have a Norcold N7LX 3F refrigerator in my 2022 Arctic Fox 990 truck camper. What refrigerators do you sell that will be an easy replacement? - 2 way 110v/LP - 12v Freon compressor refrigerators How many amp hours would a 12v compressor refrigerator consume in a day? I have 860 watts of solar and two Battleborn 100 amp-hour batteries.

Hey Jennings! We don’t currently carry any 2-way propane/AC combo models like your old Norcold, so if you want to go that route you will have to look around elsewhere and match up whatever you find to your existing cutout. For a 12V I recommend one of the following:

-Norcold Polar Full RV Refrigerator w Freezer - 8.2 Cu Ft - 12V - # NC73FR (Right Hand) or # NC63FR (Left Hand)

-Norcold Polar Full RV Refrigerator w/ Freezer – 9.7 cu ft – 12V – # NC56FR (Right Hand) or # NC29FR (Left Hand)

Both fridges have built-in battery savers and digital controls with standard compressor-type performance that’s more efficient and consistent than absorption. The 8.2 cu ft model fits a 23-1/2" wide x 52-7/8" tall x 24" deep cutout which is the same as your N7LX 3F. The larger 9.7 models fit a taller cutout that is 23-1/2" wide x 59-7/8" tall x 24" deep.

These cool in cycles, and there are different factors that come in to play with how much power they draw. Realistically, you can expect 60-90 Ah a day but it will depend on outside temp, insulation, how often you open them, etc. With that solar setup and those batteries you will be able to run the fridge pretty easily without completely draining your batteries.

Any big trips coming up with your 2022 Arctic Fox 990?
